BC Das holds political meet; lashes out at BJP

A one-day political conference attended by Manipur in-charge and All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Bhakta Charan Das was held at Block Congress Committee (BCC) Kakching office, Kakching Bazar on Saturday to discuss ways to defeat BJP in Manipur and Kakching assembly constituency in the upcoming state assembly election.
The programme was also attended by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary L Tilotama, DCC Kakching president Elangbam Manglemba, BCC president Kshetrimayum Ibohal, Block Mahila Congress Committee president Moirangthem Pishak, Kakching Municipal Council former chairperson Moirangthem Inakhunbi, ex-councillors M Memcha, M Uma Devi along with intending candidates Naorem Kobit, Yengkhom Nilachandra and Kshetrimayum Kennedy, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhakta Charan Das contended that in the 2024 elections the Narendra Modi-led NDA government will be defeated.
Similarly, in the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election Congress will win around 45 seats and will form the government.
Lashing out at BJP, he claimed that BJP is a power-hungry party.
Its gift to the common people are rise in prices of essential commodities, extending huge loan amounts to corporates, increase in unemployment, decrease in GDP, etc.
Das continued that people have not forgotten the problems faced by them due to demonetisation and oppression of the farmers.
The BJP government has sold profit making public enterprises to corporates, instigated communalism along with indulging in undemocratic activities.
Considering this, people ought to think hard and support Congress to form the next government in the state, he said.
During the programme, intending candidates Naorem Kobit, Yengkhom Nilachandra and Kshetrimayum Kennedy also talked about their agenda as well as their support to whosoever is given party ticket.
Meanwhile, Election Committee of intending candidate of Congress from Hiyanglam AC Dr Huidrom Jiten organised a one-day political conference at the candidate's residence at Langmeidong on Saturday.
The programme was attended by Manipur in-charge and AICC general secretary Bhakta Charan Das, MPCC general secretary L Tilotama, intending candidate Dr Huidrom Jiten, among others.
On the other-hand, Dr Huidrom Jiten has termed as despicable conduct of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Manipur in front of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) office at BT Road on January 6.He also condemned the act and said that it was a very undemocratic act by BJYM.
