Aurobindo Society, GoM sign MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday between Samagra Shiksha/Directorate of Education, Manipur and Sri Aurobindo Society (Rupantar), a non-profit organisation working in the field of education, for collaboration on various projects aiming to create an ecosystem to harness the power of education and the existing resources.
In a release, Sri Aurobindo Society informed that under the MoU, the organisation and the government of Manipur will work together on initiatives aimed at creating 'Role Model Schools' to create 'NEP-ready Schools' and to promote experiential learning with equitability in education.
Education (S) additional director (planning) T Geetchandra Sharma and Sri Aurobindo Society representative Haobam Vaskeremba Singh appended their signatures as witnesses during the signing of the MoU, it added.
The release also mentioned that the initiative includes 'Project Inclusion', Auro Scholarship Programme and 'Project Based Learning' which are aimed at addressing the shortage of special educators, empowering students through micro-scholarships (up to Rs 1000 per month for the students from class I to XII) and fostering a deeper understanding of concepts through real world projects.
"Government of Manipur is always looking for ways to support initiatives that promote the well-being of our citizens, especially in the education sector and we believe that our partnership with Sri Aurobindo Society (Rupantar) will bring about significant positive change in the region," Education (S) director & Samagra Shiksha Manipur state project director L Nandakumar Singh said after the signing of the MoU.
