Imphal, January 31 2023:
A signature campaign against the portrayal of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as a war criminal will be launched at Moirang tomorrow, said Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) .
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club in Imphal today, ABHM Assam and NE Region president Biswadeep Gupta said the signature campaign is part of a larger Nationwide campaign which will last for a year.
The campaign seeks to remove the 'war criminal' tag given to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Gupta said.
The signature campaign also aims to seek clarification on the issue from the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations and other international organisations.
Gupta said that the UN and the Commonwealth Nations have been treating and portraying Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as a war criminal and the Indian Government has been sidelining and ignoring this.
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was a freedom fighter who loved and sacrificed for this country.
The signature campaign has already been launched at Guwahati and Silchar in the North East.
In Manipur, the campaign will be launched at the historic INA (Indian National Army) Headquarters at Moirang tomorrow with a public convention on Netaji, Gupta added.
