State Ranji Trophy team accorded warm reception

Imphal, January 31 2023:
The members of Manipur Ranji Trophy team were accorded a warm welcome by the executive members of Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) at the Imphal International Airport on Tuesday.
The state team, who lost to Bihar in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group final, created history by being promoted to the Elite Group of the BCCI's biggest domestic tournament.
The MNCA team who received the state squad on their arrival was led by its president RK Imo Singh.
Meanwhile, taking to facebook, RK Imo wrote, "Seeing the performance of our heroes from Manipur for reaching the finals of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group, CM Shri N Biren Singh has initiated the process to lease the Luwangshangbam stadium to MNCA to prepare pitches for the upcoming Ranji season, and if ready will be hosting the big teams in our state.
"Stadium floodlights will also be inaugurated in February, a challenge to see and develop cricketing infrastructure is the top priority of the government and MNCA.
Indoor pitches/covered pitches will also be prepared for all season practices for the players.
Schools will now be targeted to scout young talents".
"Congratulations once again to Team Manipur for reaching the Elite Group," the MNCA president added.
