Sri Aurobindo Society (Rupantar) and the Manipur Government on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration on various projects.
Sri Aurobindo Society (Rupantar), recognised as National institute of importance is a non-profit organisation based in New Delhi.
In a statement, Sri Aurobindo Society (Rupantar) said that the projects aim to create an eco-system where everyone works together in synergy to harness the power of education and the existing resources.
Under this MoU, both organisations will work together on initiatives which aim at creating role model schools to create NEP-ready schools and to promote experiential learning with equitability in education.
Additional Director (Planning) of the Education Department of Schools, T Geetchandra Sharma and Haobam Vaskeremba Singh of Sri Aurobindo Society (Rupantar) were the witnesses in the signing of MoU.
As per the statement, the initiatives include Project Inclusion, Auro Scholarships Programme and Project Based Learning and they envisage addressing the shortage of special educators, empowering students through micro-scholarships (upto Rs 1000 per month for the students from Class I to Class XII) and fostering a deeper understanding of concepts.
"The Manipur Government is always looking for ways to support initiatives that promote the wellbeing of our citizens, especially in the education sector and we believe that our partnership with Sri Aurobindo Society (Rupantar) will bring about significant change in the region," said Director of Education (S) L Nandakumar Singh.
