Map showing the route taken by Burmese forces in the invasion of Kangla in 1758 is being exhibited from January 28 till February 4 at Books and Coffee, Singjamei.
The exhibition titled "Manipur and the Wrath of Alaungpaya" is being organised by Cambridge PhD scholar Edward Moon Little from UK and Negi Thokchom of Imphal and other young scholars of Manipur.
The map was reportedly drawn after the Burmese king Alaungpaya invaded and captured Manipur in 1758 and it shows the route taken by the Burmese forces in the invasion of Kangla.
Scholars shared their observation that the map is the oldest map of Manipur.
The map is from Royal Geographical Society, London and its exhibition has been made possible due to funding from Kings College, London.
