from 9.45 last night at the same
agitation venue.
It may be mentioned that
two girl students who staged
indefinte hunger strike had
already been picked up from
the same site by police on
July 21 last.
The four students who are
continuing the stir in pursu-

er Secondary School, Th Leo-

Large number of students
of Churachand Higher Sec-
ondary School, Johnstone
Higher Secondary School and
UNNACO School came at
the agitation site and showed
solidarity to the four students
by staging a sit-in-protest to-
day.
The students of Chura-
chand Higher Secondary
School reached the agitation
site in the form of a peaceful
rally.
They were escorted by
a large number of police per-
sonnel up to Singjamei
Thongkhong to thwart off
any unwanted incident.
On the other hand, police
closed the main entrance gates
of Johnstone Higher Secondary School and TG Higher Secondary School to
prevent coming out of students.
However, around 50 students of Johnstone Higher Sec-
ondary School exited from the old and closed gate located at
the south west corner of their school campus and reached the
agitation site.
Later, the students closed Singjamei bridge forcing the
people who came on the road to take other routes.
However, they gave free passage to school vans.
A team of Singjamei police station led by their SDPO M
Roni talked to the agitating students and opened the bridge to
traffic after some time.
Later in the afternoon, students of UNNACO School also
took out a rally from their campus to Singjamei agitation
venue.
They also joined other students in staging sit-in-protest
there.
