Students attending classes in verandah

Due to insufficient classrooms, students of
Sajik Tampak Government High School are
now attending classes in the verandah of 21
Assam Rifle's store room, reports our corre-
spondent.
The incident came to light when a team of
Kuki Student's Organisation (KSO) Chandel
District led by its president Doumang
Haokip inspected the school on Thursday.
Students of Class I section A, B and C of
Sajik Tampak Government High School are
now attending classes in the store room's
verandah occupied by the 21 Assam Rifles.
Prior to accommodating the verandah, stu-
dents were attending classes in the nearby
community hall of Tuilelon village.
The students and teachers are also facing
hardship due to unavailability of proper toilet
in the school campus.
Interestingly, AR personnel posted at
Sajik Tampak have occupied the school cam-
pus therefore AR personnel and the students
of Sajik Tampak Government High School
are sharing the same campus and gate.
Speaking to media persons, KSO,
Chandel District president Doumang Haokip
said that it is indeed unfortunate to see young
students of Sajik Tampak attending their
classes in the verandah.
Drawing immediate attention of the au-
thority concerned, Doumang Haokip also
urged the assigned contractor to expedite the
construction of classroom extension with due
emphasis to its qualitative aspect.
