Imphal, July 23 2016 :
A student who missed an admission opportu-
nity in a reputed educational institute due to delay in declaring B Sc
results conducted by the Manipur University has appealed to the
Higher Education Department and the Manipur University to de-
clare examination results at the earliest as a large number of students
from the State lost opportunities to study in reputed universities
and educational institutions outside the State.
Recounting his experience, Merinsing Angkang, a student
of DM College of Science from Sinakeithei of Ukhrul district,
informed media persons in a press meet held today at the
Manipur Press Club that although he cracked a tough entrance
examination for further studies in Geology at the Indian School
of Mines, Dhanbad of Jarkhand, he missed the opportunity to
get admission as the BA/B Sc results were declared rather late
by the Manipur University.
After appearing the entrance exam on May 15 he returned
home to appear his Bachelor of Science 6th semester exami-
nation which began from May 17.
"Results of the entrance examination to Indian School of
Mines was declared on June 1 and I was selected for admis-
sion to M.Sc in Applied Geology", he added.
Unfortunately,
results of B Sc examination conducted by the Manipur Uni-
versity were declared only on July 18 after the last date of
admission in the institute expired, Merinsing said.
Such instances create setback to many students and many
of such cases go unnoticed.
In the coming years, he appealed
to all concerned to arrange examination early and declare
results within 30 days after the completion of exams.
