Entrepreneur speaks out his vision

think Manipur lacks dynamic,
visionary and pragmatist
leaders, you need to think
twice.
Despite his humble back-
ground, Mayanglambam Ra-
meshwar (Ramay) Singh, an
entrepreneur, a social worker,
project consultant cum advi-
sor of various departments of
various States in the North
East region is committed to
face all odds and bring socio-
economic changes in Mani-
pur.
Born to M Aber Singh and
M Keinaton Devi of Urao-
bom Pareng, Kakching Moi-
rangthem Leikai, Rameshwar
grew up in an ordinary but
very disciplined environment.
He completed B Com (Hons)
from Shri Ram College of
Commerce, Delhi University
in 1990.He did his Manage-
ment Training during which
he was part of a team that
carried out Management Au-
dit of various Tata Companies
such as Tata Tea, Tata Fi-
nance, NALCO, Tata Davy
Limited, Rallifan etc and then
completed Masters in Politi-
cal Science from Delhi Uni-
versity.
The passion to serve the
society was evident when he
became the president of North
East Students Federation
(NESFED), an organisation
for students studying in Delhi
from the seven sister States
of North East including
Sikkim, and Darjeling during
his college days.
After his stints with vari-
ous reputed companies such
as Vedika Software, Vision
2010, information technology
companies, Rameshwar start-
ed his own company with his
colleagues at Gangtok.
Dur-
ing this period, he brought
innovative and landmark
achievement like knowledge
based software technologies
such as Geographical Information
System, Medical Transcription
etc for employment generation.
In an interaction with The
Sangai Express today at the
Classic Hotel, Rameshwar
said he is the man behind
bringing cluster development
approach for sustainable all
round development in differ-
ent parts of the North East
States.
In 2005 after the NEC
appointed him as Project Con-
sultant, he shifted his base to
Guwahati.
For North East
States except Nagaland, he
has worked with various
Govt departments.
Among
them are Sonowal Kasari
Autonomous Council in As-
sam, Urban Development and
Poverty Alleviation Depart-
ment, Art and Culture, Health,
Trade and Commerce, Higher
and Technical Education in
Mizoram, Urban Develop-
ment Agency, Khasi Hills
Autonomous District Council
in Meghalaya, Urban Devel-
opment and Housing Depart-
ment in Arunachal Pradesh
and Kakching Municipal
Council in Manipur.
Rameshwar said that be-
sides working with various
agencies of the North Eastern
States, he has worked with
the Punjab Municipal Infra-
structure Development
Company Limited a Govt of
Punjab Agency and also
worked as business develop-
ment associate with the Govt
of India, PSUs and other
agencies.
He continued, while work-
ing with the Hindustan Steel
Works Corporation Limited,
Indian Institute of Entrepre-
neurship and Indian Institute
of Public Administration, de-
tailed project reports and
sanctions were made of hous-
ing for economically weaker
sections in Kakching, Aizawl,
Shillong, Itanagar and Pun-
jab.
Further he stated that
cluster development approach
for sustainable all round de-
velopment were introduced in
different places and various
colleges were set up in differ-
ent parts of Aizwal under his
initiative.
Rameshwar continued that
before the 2014 Parliamentary
election he joined the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
and became the State Secre-
tary of BJP Manipur Pradesh,
after resigning from the post
of Chairman , Project Devel-
opment and Monitoring
Committee of Manipur
Pradesh Congress Committee.
In September 2015, he
became a national member in
the committee called 'National
Award for outstanding field
works in eradicating
untouchability, offences of
atrocities against Schedule
Caste" under the Ministry of
Social Justice and Empower-
ment, Govt of India.
He continued that there has
been rapid increase in number
of BJP supporters in
Kakching after he joined the
political party in 2014.Under
his guidance, success is seen
in the recently conducted
Kakching Municipality elec-
tion, he said.
When asked of
further plans to bring devel-
opment in the State,
Rameshwar said that his vi-
sion is to solve the
socio-economic problems by
utilizing the available re-
sources.
"If development
comes, peace will follow".
He added that the available
human resources should be
well developed first to bring
all round development.
Com-
menting on the remarks of
different political parties, he
said "all political parties have
their good sides, people rep-
resenting the party makes the
party good or bad".
"Politics
is the ultimate mechanism for
making policy for the people,
so we should never neglect
politics", he continued.
"Once
election is over, regardless of
which political party we be-
long, our policy has to cover
the entire populace and socio
economic justice should not
be for few selected privileged
but for the entire populace
based on 'need based prior-
ity', Rameshwar said.
