Imphal, July 04 2014 :
The school authority of Heri-tage Convent has rejected the allegation levelled by Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) of violating Right to Education of three girl students.
In a press conference held at his office chamber, Executive Director of the school, Sanjenbam Vikram said that no student has been rusticated so far by the school authority.
However, the school authority sometimes places some extremely bad mannered students under sus- pension to give them chance of changing their behaviour, he added.
In the latest incident, the school authority placed three girl students under suspension for stealing and burning a note book of a girl of their class, Vikram added.
The school authority was compelled to punish the three girls to make them realize about their fault.
Expressing concern over approaching HRLN instead of complaining the matter to the school authority by the father of one of the girls, Vikram questioned the intension of the man whether he wanted to conceal his daughter's fault.
Saying that the primary objective of the school is to produce good students by giving them good education and building up their moral character, Vikram urged the Human Rights Law Network not to take one-sided stand in future.
Raising question against HRLN why they did not approach the school authority to enquire the matter before they made any public statement, Vikram urged the authority concerned to investigate the matter thoroughly.
He said that the school authority is ready to revoke the suspension of these students if their parents assure that such ill-mannered conducts would not be repeated by their daughters in future.
