Imphal, July 04 2014 :
A woman grocery shop keeper has been hospitalized in serious condition after she was assaulted by an Assam Rifles jawan following an altercation over price at Dewlahland.
The altercation broke out on July 2 last after Pushpa Bista (30) refused the request made by one Warengam, who is said to be an AR jawan from Dewlahland, to give him some grocery items at lower rate.
Warengam gave a heavy punch on the victim's nose following a hot argument over the price of the items.
Pushpa was seriously hurt in the attack and was taken to Raj Medicity at North AOC here.
She had to undergo surgery on her nose, Santosh Bista, husband of the victim, told reporters at the Press Club here today.
She is still at the hospital, he added.
Santosh claimed that her wife's nose was ruptured in the assault by Warengam, who is now at large.
He appealed to the Government to arrest the accused Waringam and punish him.
