Two new Covid cases reported

Imphal, June 28 2022: Number of active cases rose to 16 as government bulletins on Tuesday reported two new cases of Covid-19 out of 65 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 3.08 per cent positivity rate.

The two fresh cases are male residents of Imphal West district.

Out of the 16 active cases, 15 are in home isolation.

Imphal West district has the highest number of active cases with nine people suffering from the viral infection followed by Imphal East and Noney with three each while Kangpokpi has one active case.

The last six fresh cases reported in the last three days are all from Imphal West district.

No recoveries and death cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,37,260 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.

The virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.

So far, the state has recorded 11,472 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.

The current month has reported 22 new positive cases and no fatality with a monthly positivity rate of 1.36 percent.

A total of 430 D-type and 52 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 3154 vaccine doses administered on Monday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,91,469, out of which 12,56,343 had received second doses and 1,08,726 had taken precautionary doses.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,763), Imphal East (30,457), Thoubal (10,161), Churachandpur (11,054), Kangpokpi (3136), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9843), Senapati (2493), Ukhrul (3279), Kakching (6896), Chandel (2726), Noney (1161), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,235 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,863 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 5,20,313 tests per million population against the national average of 6,12,330 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the recovery rate stands at 98.45 per cent.

The cumulative positivity rate stands 8.50 per cent.
