Relief materials handed over to Cachar DC

Relief materials for flood hit Silchar were handed over to Keerthi Jalli, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Cachar district (Assam) through Jiribam district Deputy Commissioner W Malemnganba Chenglei, IAS in an event held at Jiri Thongthak today at 11 am.
It may be noted that the relief materials along with SDRF personnel were sent from the State and flagged off by Chief Minister N Biren Singh yesterday.
Speaking to media persons, DC W Malemnganba said that a team led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh had flagged off 3 Tata trucks carrying relief materials such as rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt etc and 40 SDRF personnel to aid victims of flood-ravaged Assam to be handed over to the Cachar District Administration.

He recalled the good trade relations between the two states in the olden days and added that recently the Assam Government had assisted Manipur during the State Assembly elections of 2022 .
Keerthi Jalli also spoke on the occasion and hailed the relief effort provided by the State in their time of need.
