Churachandpur, May 12 2022:
Unlike other MLAs who rushed to stay at their allotted quarters in Imphal once they got elected thereby remaining aloof from the people they represented, Saikot MLA Paulienlal Haokip opted not to stay at government allotted quarters but remain close to his people and hear their grievances.
With this view, Paolienlal Haokip opened his office at Churachandpur mini secretariat from Thursday.
During interaction with some media persons, Paolienlal Haokip said that he chooses to stay at his ancestral home so that he gets time to interact with people and hear their grievances.
When asked whether he did not get government allotted quarters, Paolienlal Haokip replied that he intends to stay close to people but will stay at his quarters only when necessary, even if the government allots one.
Paolienlal also said that he wants to bring change to the system wherein MLAs are inaccessible to their people by staying at quarters in Imphal and people are forced to wait for long hours in order to get their grievances addressed.
About government schemes and fund procurement for the people of the constituency, Paolien lai Haokip said that now is the digital age and distance does not matter anymore.
He also said that government schemes are being imple mented not only in Imphal but all over India and can be accessed from anywhere.
Being in Imphal does not help in getting any schemes for constituency, he said and promised to meet ministers concerned to highlight concerns of the people.
Paolienlal Haokip's office was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commission er (ADC) Churachandpur Khaikhopau Ngaihte after which the MLA occupied his office chamber.
A blessing prayer was conducted by elder Khailun Haokip of Evengelical Church Assembly (ECA) .
