International Nurses Day celebrated, selfless contributions of nurses lauded

International Nurses Day was celebrated widely in the State today to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, pioneer of modern nursing.
The theme for this year's Nurses' Day is "Nurses: A Voice to Lead � Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health" .
All Manipur Community Health Officers Union organised the International Nurses Day celebration at the hall of the Indian Medical Association at Lamphelpat today.
The programme was graced by Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Sapam Ranjan, former Joint Director of Nursing, Mutum Roma Devi, Mission Director of State Health Society, Dr Somorjit Ningombam and Additional Chief Secretary, Vumlunmang Vualnam, IAS as the presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Sapam Ranjan lauded the selfless contributions of the nurses in the health sector especially during the grim Covid times.

The Covid situation has improved considerably in the State owing to the contributions made by the people in the medical profession, he added.
He also appealed to all concerned to maintain a healthy relation with the patients.
Raj Medicity too celebrated International Nurses Day today at the multipurpose hall of the hospital.
The function was attended by Haobijam Rajen Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, Dr A Ibotombi Sharma, Medical Superintendent and Dr Ng Narendra Singh, Senior Consultant, General Surgery, Raj Medicity as the presidium members, said a press release by Raj Medicity.
Speaking on the occasion, Haobijam Rajen Singh highlighted the role of nursing in the patient care system.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, the immense contribution of the nurse has provided invaluable to the medical community and the pandemic is a stark reminder of the vital role nurses play in the society and resilience shown by the nurses in every challenging situation and disastrous circumstances is commendable, he added.
Also Celin Digital observed International Nurses Day today and honoured Longjam Rebika Devi, Sister in-charge, Horizon Hospital and presented her a shawl, citation along with a gift.
