658 students appear for JNVST in Chandel

Chandel, February 09 2014:
All together 658 students of the district yesterday appeared for Jawahar Navodaya Vidalaya Selection Test (JNVST)-2014 conducted by Zonal Education Office Chandel in five centers across the district for admission to Class VI in JNV Liwa Sarei for the academic session 2014-2-15 .
Out of the total 854 registered students, only 658 students turned up to appear in the test conducted for only 80 students for admission as per the term and condition of JNV.
The result of the test will be declared by end of May this year.
The selection test held at Machi govt High School got the maximum support of the local students' Union and local people, staffs of the school in ensuring smooth and fair conduct of the test.
Under the supervision of Block Education Officer (BEO) Khamba Maring, briefing of the teachers was done before the start of the examination during which BEO appealed for free and fair conduct of the test.
He urged the teachers to show their real attitude of being Christian and set example to other fellow teachers in discouraging any form of unfair means in the exam.
DLO of the centre AS Elias, MCS, who is the SDO of Machi was also present.
Later speaking to media, Khamba Maring informed that in all the Centers one District Level Observer (DLO), two Central Level Observers (CLOs) from JNV, Central Superintendent (CS) and invigilators were deployed for the test.
He thanked the Maring Eco-Tourism Centre (METCE), an NGO for helping the students of that area by conducting free coaching class and PRE-Examination.
