Imphal, February 09 2014:
YDCL-B Pungdongbam came from a goal down to beat a spirited NEYO-A Sanjenbam in a Group C match of the Chalou Cup today.
Taking the field in a positive frame of mind, NEYO-A went on the offensive from the first whistle, finding the gaps in the defence line of YDLC-B on a couple of occasions.
The open and flowing tactics adopted by NEYO-A proved fruitful early in the match, when L Babothoi latched onto the ball near the goal mouth of YDCL -B and slotted it home, beating the custodian hands down.
After taking a one goal lead as early as the 19th minute, NEYO-A withdrew enabling YDCL-B to begin dictating the terms of the game.
Dominating the midfield, YDCL-B launched a series of attacks and the equaliser came in the 26th minute when H Telheiba netted the goal.
The onslaught did not stop, with Th Ratan finding the target in the 35th minute to put YDCL-B ahead by a solitary goal.
H Telheiba was at it again when he banged the ball home in the 45th minute to take the match away from NEYO-A.The second half saw a listless game and ended with neither team finding the target.
In the second match of Group C today, HYDC Huidrom were held to a 2-2 draw by CHYUC-B Chalou.
H Dhanabir was the man for HYDC as he put his team ahead as early as the 8th minute of the match, when the rival players had barely settled down and got into the groove of things.
Dhanabir followed up his early goal with yet another one in the 30th minute to put his team in a comfortable position, taking a 2-0 lead.
The lead however was short lived as CHYUC-B put more men on the attack and started attacking from either side of the flank and repeatedly breached the defence of HYDC.
The relentless onslaught finally paid off in the 32nd minute of the match when A Binod disturbed the net with a well measured shot.
This goal added more gist in the attack of CHYUC-B and they continued to make repeated inroads into the territory of HYDC, which had somehow withdrawn into a shell resting on the one goal cushion.
The repeated attacks again paid off for CHYUC-B when M Gangu found the net in the 37th minute of the match.
The second half turned out to be a listless match with neither team making any serious effort to break the deadlock.

The flood gates opened in the 29th minute when Kiran found the net followed by Arun in the 31st minute, Anthot in the 38th minute and Angry in the 63rd minute.
So dominant was TUC that KPSC came nowhere near scoring, allowing the TUC players to dictate the pace of the game at their will freely.
