Imphal, February 09 2014:
Along with releasing a book titled 'Kayada Ningthiraba' written by Luching Luwang, the 12th Foundation Day of Kangleipak Loinasinlon Apunba Marup (KLAM) was observed at Manipur Press Club here today.
The foundation day observance was attended by Prof Huirem Bihari, convenor of Manipur Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi as Chief Guest; Asem Yaitongba of KLAM as functional President and Prof Jodhachandra Sanasam, President of Patriotic Writers' Forum as Special Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Jodhachandra Sanasam noted that since its inception KLAM has been trying to develop indigenous Manipuri language, which has become a victim of influence of outsiders since early period.
Pointing that that many other indigenous languages of the State that existed in the 18th century have been erased following the burning of sacred Puyas, Jodhachandra noted that indigenous Manipuris words have been replaced by Bengali such as 'Luk' by 'Prasadi', which is a Bengali word at the behest of some influential persons.
