Nehginpao concludes two-day lecture in Yangon

Nehginpao Kipgen, a political scientist and a researcher on South and Southeast Asiawith specialization on Burma/Myanmar, has successfully concluded a two-day lecture series on a topic titled "Democratic Transition in Myanmar: Patterns of Political Change" .
The first day, on February 6, Kipgen gave the lecture to audience of officials and staff members of the Myanmar Baptist Convention (MBC), Yangon.
The event was also attended by Non-Governmental Organizations, including members of Karuna Foundation from New Zealand.
The second day, on February 7, Kipgen delivered the lecture at the Myanmar Institute of Theology (MIT), Yangon.
Students as well as faculty members of Social Sciences attended the event.
Lectures of both first and second day sessions were followed by interactive Questions and Answers (Q&A) session.
Kipgen, who is on his month-long trip to Myanmar, is scheduled to meet people from different walks of life.
Among others, he is scheduled to meet foreign diplomats, political party leaders, civil society groups, ethnic minority leaders.
Meanwhile, Thadou-Kuki community of Yangon hosted a reception program in honour of Kipgen at Myanmar Baptist Convention yesterday.
