Unconditional release demanded

Imphal, August 22 2011:
The Southern Tangkhul Students Union has demanded the unconditional release of Lieshiwon, H Sarender and C Chihan who were arrested by police from Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium area on August 19 .
The Union further warned that it will resort to heavy agitations if they were not released unconditionally at the earliest possible time.
Briefing media persons at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Simther Jajo, President of Southern Tangkhul Students Union said that Lieshiwon, H Sarender and C Chihan were farmers running piggery farms in New Canaan.
They were arrested by the police when they were buying pig feed in Imphal.
Leishiwon, a mother of eight children was brutally beaten and then released on bail.
She is being treated at the Christian Hospital, Deulahland.
The other two who were arrested with Lieshiwon is still in police custody.
