PM assures CM Ibobi a helping hand

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has assured Chief Minister, O Ibobi of giving all possible help in tackling the problems faced by the state government on the issues erupting out of the demands for full fledged districts of Sadar Hills and Jiribam.
Spokesperson of the SPF government, N Biren who is also the IFCD Minister, speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao said that the Chief Minister met the Prime Minister this evening and discussed the current problems faced by the people of the state arising out of the blockades enforced in the NHs, on one side by the SHDDC demanding conversion of Sadar Hills as a full fledged district, and on the other side by UNC against the conversion of Sadar hills and Jiribam as full fledged districts.
The meeting went on for more than one hour where O Ibobi requested the Prime Minister for the centre's intervention.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the inability of the state government in using force to crush down the agitators as it would unnecessarily increase the number of civilian casualties in the process, he said.
The minute details of the meeting and the hardships faced by the common people in acquiring essential commodities as a result of the ongoing economic blockade will be discussed at a cabinet meeting tomorrow which will be held at 3 in the evening.
It may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister also met the Union Home Minister in his visit to Delhi where they discussed about the ongoing economic blockade and its effect to the common people.
The Union Minister had also assured of all possible help to Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi.
