Naga groups resolve to broaden peace process

Dimapur, August 22 2011:
NSCN-IM, NNC/FGN and NSCN-Khole/Kitovi faction met in Dimapur to "strengthen and broaden the peace process based on the uniqueness of Naga history" .
NSCN-IM chairman Isak Chisi Swu and general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah of the NSCN-IM, general secretary Kitovi Zhimomi and its chairman Khole Konyak of the NSCN-Kitovi/Khole group and then NNC/FGN president S Singnya and its vice president Zhopra Vero met today and prayed together.
The Naga underground leaders said they "feel sorry" for having hurt each other.
That programme was convened by Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) .
The militant leaders said they longed for genuine reconciliation amongst them.
"We have profoundly hurt one another, and today through God's given opportunity we express how deeply sorry we are and we have genuinely forgiven each other," the statement of NSCN-IM, NNC/FGN and NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) said.
"Henceforth, we declare to the Naga people that we have reconciled before God and fellow human beings and in this spirit of reconciliation we are persuaded to understand each other and work towards a shared Naga future on the foundation of our historical and political rights.
Fellow Nagas, in the spirit of love let the past remain the past, and from today, let us toil for our common cause," it added.
