KMHR urges aid for mishap victims

Kuki Movember for Human Rights (KMHR) has urged the Chief Minister to extend assistance to the bus owner and the families of those killed and wounded in the bus accident which took place at a spot in between Piphima and Mizephema in Nagaland on January 4 .
In an open memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, Chairman of KMHR T Lunkim recalled that the ill-fated bus bearing registration no.MN01-1833 was coming towards Manipur when the mishap occurred claiming ten previous human lives and wounded many other passengers.
The incident has shaken the people of both Manipur and Nagaland and Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio and his government have extended all possible helps of taking care of the dead and the wounded giving Rs 50,000 to each of the bereaved families and Rs 5000 to each of the wounded.
Even the dead bodies have been transported by the Nagaland government to Imphal.
But surprising, the state government of Manipur has so far done nothing, Lunkim lamented.
