MPP complains against party MLAs contesting from different parties

Imphal, January 11 2012:
Denouncing the attitude of the 4 MPP MLAs who have filed their nominations to contest in the 10th Manipur State Assembly Election, under different political parties as totally unacceptable, MPP submitted a complaint statement to the concern Returning Officers.
According to a reliable source, the General Secretary of MPP (Administration), AC Jayenta has also submitted the complaint statement to the Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly and to the Assembly Secretary.
The four MPP MLAs who are going to contest the election under different political parties include, Dr I Ibohalbi of Oinam A/C, Dr Ng Bijoy of Khurai A/C, RK Anand of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C and Th Shyamkumar of Andro A/C.These four MPP MLAs have not yet submitted any formal resignation letter to the Party and the Speaker has also not yet relieved them from their
positions as MLAs.
The complaint statement submitted by MPP also mentions that if an MLA intends to contest in the election under a different political party rather than his or her original party, he/she should resign from being an MLA.
The candidate should also possess official documents of their resignation from the primary membership of the party.
According to the source, chaos is likely to prevail during scrutiny of the four MPP MLAs filing nominations from different political parties.
Meanwhile, a Part III Bulletin of the Manipur Legislative Assembly reportedly issued on January 3 last, but which came out only today, has approved the resignation of 10 MLAs.
The MLAs include MLA Awangbou Newmai, Dr I Ibohalbi, Dr Usham Deben, K Raina, Th Shyamkumar, Danny Shaiza, Dr Ng Bijoy, Thongkholun Haokip, RK Anand and Khangthuanang Panmei.
