Straight fight in four A/Cs
280 aspiring candidates in total file nominations for 10th Assembly election

Imphal, January 11 2012:
Four constituencies of the state, will witness a straight fight between two political parties in the coming assembly polls scheduled on January 28 .
The constituencies where there will be straight fights among two political parties are Moirang, Kakching, Karong and Thanlon.
In Moirang A/C, the battle will be between the INC and the NCP, with sitting MLA M Prithiviraj contesting in the INC ticket and retired IAS officer, P Saratchandra contesting in the NCP ticket.
Kakching A/C will be a battlefield for the CPI candidate N Achou and INC candidate Y Surchandra.
Karong A/C will be a battlefield for Nagaland based Political Party, NPF and the ruling party; INC where sitting MLA DD Thaisii of INC will be contesting with Dr Alexander of NPF.
While Thanlon A/C will witness a fierce battle between the Congress candidate Bungjagin Valte and CPI candidate Twanzalien Lianpu.
Meanwhile, uptill the final day of filing nominations, a total number of 280 aspiring candidates have filed nominations for 10th Assembly election.
Congress has put up candidates in all the 60 constituencies while Trinamool Congress with 48 candidates, comes second in putting up the highest number of candidates.
BJP is fielding 29 candidates, NCP is putting up 23 candidates, while 13 candidates are contesting from MPP, 23 candidates from CPI, 13 candidates are contesting on NPF symbol, 33 from MSCP and while JDU is putting up 14 .
The highest number of candidates is seen in Kshetrigao A/C with altogether 9 candidates who have filed their nomination papers.
