Imphal, July 14 2012:
Kuki Movement for Human Rights (KMHR) said on Saturday that it is a great relief for all indigenous people in Manipur and all the regions covered by Inner Line Permit (ILP) system that the state Legislative Assembly has unanimously voted for early introduction of ILP in Manipur.
The Kuki Inpi had vehemently opposed the vacation of ILP which would certainly cause disturbances to peace and social harmony in the state so a memorandum was submitted to the Indian Prime Minister in this regard during his visit to Imphal for inauguration of the Capitol Project on December 2, 2011, KMHR said .
Making an urgent appeal to the state Chief Minister, KMHR said introduction of ILP system without fail can prevent further disruption on public peace and social harmony as well as violation of human rights, adding that implementation of ILP in the state is in the hand of the present Ministry.
