Tamenglong wakes up to Go Green message

Under the theme of 'Be the Change, Go Green', a day-long seminar cum awareness campaign on environment was held at Raengaan, some kms to the outskirts of Dailong Village of Tamenglong district under the theme "Be the change, go green" .
The seminar cum awareness campaign was organized by Unleashed Vision in collaboration with Dailong Youth Organisation, Dailong Ecology & Environment Preservation Society, DEEPS and Hornbills with C.Arthur W, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong as chief guest and Dichamang Pamei, Retd DC Tamenglong as guest of honour and Dr Birjit Ningthemcha, HOD Life Science, MU as resource person.
Acknowledging contributions and personal achievements, the district the awareness campaign committee today gave three certificates to three individuals namely KC Lokho, Commandant 5th MR, who has planted trees along the Tamenglong -Khongsang Road; Ringlarei Pamei, Car designer and Diriakthai who secured 95 % (99% in Sociology) in the CBSE exam this year.
Speaking at the occasion, C Arthur W, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong, said that human being are so selfish that they never thought about the importance of the trees in their life.
If we continued to live the way we lived today, the entire globe would become barren.
In his speech as guest of honour, Dichamang Pamei, Retd DC Tamenglong observed that our forefathers were so concerned about the future of Dailong that they protected the natural resources and forest for the present generation.
