Imphal, October 22 2011:
Reacting to a news report published in Times of India on its September 17 edition, Maoist Communist Party, Manipur (MCP-M) has asserted that the claim of the Indian Army that MCP-M has been established in the interest of Meiteis only is a deliberate attempt to mislead the people.
In a statement, Secretary Publicity and Propaganda of MCP-M Nonglen Meitei countered that the false claim of the Indian Army is an indication that India government has been shaken by the activities of a revolutionary group like MCP-M, which has come into existence recently but, significantly, at a time when the liberation movement in North East region appears to be flagging.
When MCP-M announced its formation on August 10 last, the news of the same have been carried in publications all over the world including Nepal, Bangladesh, France, Columbia, Italy, etc, as well as on various websites, and many revolutionary groups fighting for the cause of liberation have responded positively, Nonglen Meitei said, while appealing to the people not to mislead by such false reports and claims but continue to extend their support and co-operation to the ongoing liberation movement.
