Many decry killing of student

Denouncing as inhumane act, many social organizations and student bodies have come out strongly against the killing of Master Mutum Jewel alias Manichandra, a student of class VI in Bishnupur Public School, whose body was recovered yesterday after remaining missing for two days.
All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association has demanded the Government and other related authorities for identification of the killers and taking up necessary measures to ensure similar incidents of targeting students are not repeated.
Manipuri Students' Federation has also demanded that severe punishment should be given to perpetrators of such crimes and called for collective effort in rooting out which criminal elements from among our midst.
Condemning the killing of Mutum Jewel alias Manichandra, All India Students' Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council pointed out that such incidents have caused apprehension in the minds of the parents from letting their children to go to attend schools without any fear.
Demanding that the culprits be produced for taking up necessary legal action, the student body also urged the government to ensure such incidents were not repeated.
The Sustainable Development Centre (SDC), Thamnapokpi has also condemned the killing of Mutum Jewel in the strongest term.
