GP College students stranded at Mao

Imphal, October 22 2011:
Due to the ongoing total bandh called by the All Naga Students Association, Manipur since last midnight in all the Naga inhabited areas of the state, a team of students of GP Women's College returning back from Shillong who were on a study tour, have been left stranded at Mao.
Reports reaching here from Mao said that the students and teachers of GP Women's College will hold the night at the newly constructed building of Manipur Development Society at Mao.
Meanwhile, the 72 hours total bandh called by ANSAM has affected the normal life of the people of the Naga inhabited areas to a large extent.
All shops and establishment in Tamenglong, Senapati and Ukhrul district remained closed on the first day of the bandh.
The bandh went on peacefully in Chandel district.
