'Villages will develop under PMGSY'

Imphal, February 18 2015:
A hundred ten feet long Belly Bridge, constructed by Manipur State Road Development Agency (MSRDA) under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) at Mount Geltum village, Churchandpur district was inaugurated by Francis Ngajokpa, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) Government of Manipur on Wednesday.
It is unfortunate that people, including legislative members, who have not venture out of Imphal comments on the works that are being undertaken under PMGSY and the practice should be discontinued said Ngajokpa, during the inaugural function.
RD&PR Minister affirmed that the government is making all out effort to improve the physical infrastructure of far flung villages under PMGSY overcoming various challenges by adhering to rules and guidelines of the Union Ministry by the government added.
Francis also urged the people to use the bridge for the benefit of the local population and the heavy vehicles, particularly with timbers, should be prohibited for longevity of the bridge.
The function was attended by dignitaries of state government and officials of the department.
