Imphal, February 18 2015:
Bikram XI played two matches and won both in the Bikram Memorial YPC Cup tennis ball cricket tournament on Wednesday.
The team sneaked past SEFA by 4 runs in the first match and then returned to the field again to snatch another thrilling win, this time by 24 runs against BAJI XI .
A quick fire knock of 54 runs from just 17 balls by Jempu lifted Bikram XI to a total of 157 for 5 in 15 overs against SEFA.
The run chase progressed on the right track for SEFA as their batsmen too piled up runs at a brisk rate.
However, they failed to deliver the winning punch falling short by four runs.
Jempu was adjudged the man of the match.
The flip of the coin favoured BIKRAM XI again in the next encounter against BAJI XI and they stuck to batting first.
The team amassed 144 for 7 in 15 overs, Lamba accounting for more than two-third of the total scoring exactly 100 runs from just 46 balls.
BAJI XI were bowled out for 120 runs off the last ball of the 15th over.
Lamba walked away with the man of the match award.
Tomorrow, YHCT will feature in two matches, first against SWA, Chabung Company at 8 am and later against CLT, Singjamei at 1 pm.
