State logs 77 new cases, caseload crosses 300

Number of active cases crossed the 300 mark on Thursday as the state reported 77 new positive cases of Covid-19 from 10 districts, out of 568 samples tested in the last 24 hours, and registered 13.56 per cent positivity rate The 77 fresh cases (42 male & 35 female) are residents of Imphal West (46), Imphal East (12), Kakching (4), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (3), Chandel (3), Ukhrul (2), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (1) and Churachandpur (1) districts.
Thursday also reported 25 recoveries from home isolation (19), Shija Hospital (3), RIMS (2) and JNIMS (1) but no death case was reported.
Number of active cases rose to 320, out of which 233 (72.81 per cent) are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives infected 1,37,690 individuals in the state.
The virus has claimed the lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
There are no vacant beds in JNIMS while RIMS has 34 beds available.
So far, the state has recorded 445 positive cases since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic with 420 persons infected in current month.
The cumulative positivity rate for the current month rose to 11.13 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 99 D-type and 19 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 2671 vaccine doses administered which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,00,547, including 12,69,466 who had received the second dose and 1,22,973 precautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48978), Imphal East (30565), Thoubal (10179), Churachandpur (11066), Kangpokpi (3141), Tamenglong (3479), Bishnupur (9862), Senapati (2501), Ukhrul (3286), Kakching (6910), Chandel (2742), Noney (1163), Tengnoupal (1203), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1039), and Pherzawl (465) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,373 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 31,041 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,21,580 tests per million population against the national average of 6,16,635 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate came down to 98.23 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.51 per cent.
