Memo on Tamenglong-Khongsang road

Imphal, October 20 2012:
Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating condition of Tamenglong-Khongsang road, which connects the National Highway (NH-37), eight frontal organizations in Tamenglong district have jointly submitted an ultimatum to Chief Minister, O Ibobi Singh on Thursday demanding repairing of the road at the earliest possible.
The condition of this 'parentless road' is pathetic and not safe to travel.
It causes lot of inconveniences to movement of vehicles and several road related accidents occurred in the past years claiming valuable lives, read the ultimatum submitted jointly by Joint Forum for Transport Welfare, Tml district; Zeliangrong Women Union, Manipur; Chairman Association Tamei, Tml HQ; VACC Tml dst; Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur; Zeliangrong Youth Front, Tml Zone; and Zeliangrong Students' Union, Tml dst.
The joint memorandum has also warned of resorting to a series of agitations in case the state government fails to take up necessary measures to improve the condition of the road.
