Workshop on consumer education held

A one day workshop on 'Consumer Education' was organised by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Manipur SSA at BSNL Bhavan, Babupara today.
Delivering the key-note address, AGM (CMM) S Manglem Singh highlighted that vision and mission of the telecom company is to provide world class state of the art technology and service to its customers at competitive prices.
Formed in October 2000, BSNL has become one of the largest telecommunication companies and will continue to strive for world class services and contribute to growth of the country's economy, said the AGM while conveying that aim of today's workshop was to facilitate rapport between the BSNL and its customers as well as enable the customers to understand services being provided.
Elaborating on the services being provided by the telecom company, he also affirmed that BSNL is committed to ensuring expeditious administrative service.
apart from highlighting various rights of the customers, Manglem also called upon the genuine customers to air their grievances in any matter.
At present BSNL is said to be providing services concerning landline, CDMA mobile, GSM mobile 2G + 3G, internet 5 broadband, Wimax, leased lines, intelligent services (ITC, tele voting, etc), video conferencing, audio conferencing, telegrams, cell broadcasting, data services through EVDO & 3G technologies and rural telephony under USO funding.
In his address, BSNL Manipur GM (TD) J Lunkim said that it is very much essential for the consumer and service provider to have close coordination.
Stating that customers in Manipur have the tendency to tolerate even if there is disruption in service, Lunkim said complaints from the customers serve as invaluable information for the service provider to function more efficiently and initiate updating of technology.
