Pseudoephridyne tablet worth Rs 14 lakh seized

Kakching, October 20 2012:
A Joint team of Thoubal District Police Commandos and Pallel Police today seized PseudoEphridyne Tablets worth Rs 14 lakh in international market from Pallel Keithel while trying to smuggle into Myanmar.
The tablets were seized from a Maruti Van bearing registration number ML-05H/7264 at around 1.30 pm today.
The tablets were found concealed in 26 plastic packets inside the seats.
The driver of the van has been identified as Md Jamir Khan (24) son of Sirajuddin Khan from Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai.
He was instructed by one Ibai from Lilong Kethel to smuggle the tablets in Myanmar through Moreh.
Out of the 26 plastic packets, 25 packets contained 7,000 tablets each while the remaining packet contained only 2,000 tablets.
The tablets are worth Rs 1,60,000 in local market.
However the worth of the seized tablets in the international market would go up to Rs 14,00,000 .
