Drug seized at Guwahati railway station enroute to Manipur

Guwahati, October 20 2012:
Two people have been arrested in Guwahati railway station while they were en-route to Manipur with Drugs worth Rs 6 lacs in the Indian market.
Acting on Intelligence reports the Railway police conducted a raid on a specific compartment in the Bangalore Express and recovered 3.42 lacs C-U-Kuf tablets.
The arrested are Nazimuddin and Faizur Rahman, both a resident of Manipur's linglu area.
In their interrogation, they confessed that these drugs were destined for Manipur via Dimapur.
It is worth mentioning here that according to Intelligence reports sophisticated arms and drugs are procured via South-East Asian arms syndicate, which are supplied from Myanmar to Dimapur via tamu, moreh and imphal respectively.
Currently Guwahati has turned into an arms and narcotics corridor with large quantity of arms and narcotic material along with terrorist frequently arrested by the city police.
