BJP divides, Congress unites: Jairam

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh, who is also the party's election observer for the state, has said that BJP divides the state while the Congress party unites.
Jairam Ramesh, who arrived here on a five-day visit on Friday, attended a booth level workers' conference at Uchiwa Kabui village in Mayang Imphal assembly constituency in the presence of ex-minister Kh Ratankumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Jairam Ramesh expressed happiness on felicitating new Congress members, who left BJP and joined the party.
He said that the main difference between Congress and BJP is that the former believes in unity and the latter always tries to divide.
Congress wants to protect Manipur while BJP wants to control Manipur from Nagpur.
BJP will decide what the people of the state will eat, wear and which God to worship from Nagpur if the BJP rule continues in the state.
Though BJP often boasts of double engine government but it is just a myth.
Only Congress can bring peace, development and integrity in the state, he said.
Kangla is the most important historical place and heritage of Manipur and it was Congress party which gave Kangla to the people of the state in 2004 as the party knows that it is closely associated with the identity of the state and its people, Jairam Ramesh maintained.
The senior Congressmen candidly remarked that he loves Manipur's dance, drama and cuisines and is learning Manipuri language for deeper understanding of state and its people.
Earlier, MPCC working president I Hemochandra, general secretary Amin Shah, Amir Hussain, social media department's state coordinator Malemkhomba Salam and qther party members received the Congress MP at Imphal International Airport.
