Even as different student and social bodies have condoled the death of Konsam Roshni, a Class III student of Goura Thambal Memorial Academy in a mishap caused by a rainstorm on April 1, news of damages caused by storm are still coming from different localities of the State.
Condoling the demise of the young student, DESAM shared grief of the bereaved family.
In its condolence message, Arapti Youth Mahadev Organisation drew attention of the State Government saying that recognition to private schools must be given with due consideration of safety norms of the students.
Condoling the death, MEELAL urged upon the State Government to extend support to the bereaved family.
Urup-Arapti Development Co-Ordinating Committee also condoled the demise of Roshni.
Meanwhile, the roof of the multipurpose hall of Mayai Lambi College, which is currently under construction has been blown away by a strong wind in the night of April 2.The roof along with the stead felt on the administrative block of the college causing partial damage to its roof.
According to a press release of the college students' union, the damage has caused disturbance in the normal functioning of classes.
A fierce rainstorm ravaged around 220 structures including houses, school, college and club buildings at areas under Wangkhem Gram Panchayat on April 1 .
A press release issued by Pradhan of the GP, Md Helim urged upon the State Government to extend help to the victims as there is no community hall at the locality.
