The two month-long 'Driving and Maintenance of Vehicle' course conducted by 557 ASC Bn under the aegis of 57 Mountain Division concluded at Leimakhong today.
According to a PIB (DW) release, 29 young boys from nearby villages attended the course with the Mountain Division GOC Maj Gen DS Hooda handing over driving licenses and certificates to the participants during the closing ceremony.
In his brief address, the GOC expressed satisfaction that Military Civic Action projects undertaken as part of Operation Sadbhavana have yielded enormous dividends and that the people have understood the benefits of the development, peace and tranquillity.
"Today's youth and their parents have realized that leading a life of a dignified citizen is much better than falling prey to some misguided persons," DS Hooda said adding that Op Sadbhavana is the brand name for trust, hope and confidence that the Indian army instills among locals for encouraging them to join the mainstream and look forward for a better future.
