A non-local labourer was found dead at Makru area along Imphal-Jiribam road (National Highway-53) while another whose identity could not be established is going to be disposed off.
According to police report, the non-local labourer whose identity is yet to be confirmed was found laying dead under the culvert located in between milestone 191 and 192 in Makru area along National Highway 53 at around 4 pm yesterday.
The area falls within the jurisdiction of Nungba Police Station of Tamenglong district.
There were no sign of injury marks on the body which had started decomposing.
Personnel of Nungba Police Station today retrieved the body and deposited at the mortuary of RIMS here.
According to a statement issued by the Nungba Police Station, the deceased appears to be around 37/38 years of age with lean body structure, 5 feet 3 inches tall, brown complexion and bald headed.
With exception to a red underwear, he was found bare.
On the other hand, the identity of the suspected Madrassi Muslim who was found dead at a bus waiting shed of Darchin village under Tengnoupal Police Station of Chandel district in the afternoon of March 29 is yet to be confirmed and still laying at the mortuary of RIMS Hospital.
In a statement, OC of Tengnoupal Police Station has declared that the body would be handed over for disposal if no one come to claim it by tomorrow.
