SSB volunteers hold dharnas

Under the banner of All North East States SSB ITVs & WATS Welfare Association, more than eight hundred volunteers from Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) who underwent Internship Training Volunteers (ITVs) and Women Advance Training School (WATS) staged a two day dharna at Joyomati Phattar, Tezpur in Assam on October 19 and October 20 last.
In a statement, the All Manipur SSB Volunteers Welfare Association informed that the dharna was organised to draw the attention of the authorities of SSB and Central Government towards its demands which include granting of ex-gratia/compensation/gratuity to aged ITVs and WATS of North East.
Stating that the members also submitted a copy of memorandum to the Inspector General, SSB FHQ, Tezpur seeking immediate fulfilment of their demands, the association threatened to launch intensive democratic movement if their demands are not looked into.
