Imphal, October 23 2016:
Alleging Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang of making anti-Indian statements during his visit to the State recently, CPI (M-L), Liberation Manipur State Committee said that the Centre should take up action against him.
Speaking to reporters at CPI (M-L), Liberation Manipur State Committee office located at Sagolband Tera Thingbaijam Leikai, State secretary Sapam Shamungou said that Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang's statements have violated the Indian Constitution.
"TR Zeliang, while swearing-in as the Chief Minister of Nagaland, had pledged to abide by the Constitution of India.
However, during his recent visit to Manipur, he made certain statements which created a threat to the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Till date, the Centre has not reacted to his statements which is unfortunate," Sapam Shamungou said.
Quoting freedom of speech and commenting on the history and territory of another State were unnecessary.
The NDA Government and State Government must take the matter seriously and take up required actions, he added.
