Imphal, October 23 2016:
All the intending candidates who have been seeking BJP ticket in Yaiskul AC have reached a consensus to support whoever is given the party ticket in the forthcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Notably A Sarda, N Helendro, Hareshwar Goswami, H Jaidev and Th Satyabrata have been seeking BJP ticket in Yaiskul AC.
They have signed an agreement and they declared during a political conference held at Brahmapur Aribam Leikai today that they would support whoever among them is given the party ticket.
The agreement stated that none of the four intending candidates who have been denied party ticket would contest the election.
They also agreed to campaign for BJP candidates with all their resources in order to ensure establishment of a BJP Government in the State.
Speaking at the political conference held under the aegis of BJP Yaiskul Mandal, BJP election campaign committee convenor Th Chaoba said that the Framework Agreement was signed by Centre's interlocutor RN Ravi and NSCN-IM general secretary Th Muivah, not by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"There was no space in the Framework Agreement for the Chief Minister of Manipur to append his signature and I never said that the Chief Minister signed the Framework Agreement", Chaoba clarified.
After the Framework Agreement was signed, the Chief Minister met Prime Minister Narendra Modi twice.
"I was asking the Chief Minister to divulge to the public what transpired during his meetings with the Prime Minister", Chaoba continued.
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared in Parliament that the territorial integrity of Manipur would not be affected.
BJP National president Amit Shah too declared at Hapta Kangjeibung recently that not an inch of Manipur's territory would be ceded.
To safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur is an unchangeable resolution of BJP, Chaoba asserted.
He went on to question whether the Chief Minister can remove Gaikhangam from his post for signing on a document which endorsed integration of Naga inhabited areas.
