149 active cases remain, 18 new cases detected

Imphal, August 16 2022:
The total number of Covid-19 active cases in the state remains at 149 with the detection of 18 new cases, out of 446 samples tested on Tuesday, thereby registering 4 per cent positivity rate.
Meanwhile, 11 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
Out of 18 fresh cases (7 males and 11 females), five each are from Imphal West and Imphal East, two each from Ukhrul and Churachandpur and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching, Senapati and Pherzawl districts.
In all, 25 people recovered from the viral disease on Tuesday, out of which 22 were discharged from home isolation, one from RIMS and two from JNIMS.
There are 30 beds vacant in the 38-bedded Covid facility at JNIMS and 55 out of 62 beds remain vacant in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 2,279 positive cases and 23 fatalities since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 453 new positive cases and 14 deaths.
A total of 44 D-type and 11 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities on Monday, while 247 vaccine doses were administered taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 31,45,312, out of which 16,23,321 have been inoculated with first dose 12,94,400 with second dose and 2,27,591 with precautionary doses.
