Passenger service vehicles relaxed: JAC

The striking Joint Action Committee � All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers Association (JAC �AMHDCBTA) has relaxed all passenger service vehicles operating on National Highways, connecting Imphal with other parts of the region from the purview of the ongoing 72-hour blockade enforced by the committee.
The strike which began from midnight of April 20 has disrupted normal traffic along the highways.
The JAC of 772 contractual teachers is demanding service regularization.
Several hill-based student organizations are backing the strike.
"If our demand is not met soon, we may opt to boycott the ensuing ADC polls," warned JAC �AMHDCBTA president Thuikamang during a press meet at the Zeliangrong community hall, Jiribam Lamkhai, a Jiribam News Network report said on Wednesday.
KSO, Jiribam/Tamenglong Zone general secretary Seithang, who also present during the press meet, said the demand raised by the JAC of contractual teachers was genuine.
He demanded that the Manipur Government fulfill the demand at earliest.
