New water supply scheme will be ready for Langthabal

MLA RK Anand released water from Langthabal Phuramakhong Water Supply Scheme on a trial basis after it was being inspected along with the PHED officials on Wednesday.
The new water supply scheme is being constructed at the cost of Rs 7 crore under the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) is now nearing completion.
Water was released from the water supply scheme to public hydrants in Langthabal area on a trial basis.
The water supply scheme would be ready for use in a few months' time, MLA RK Anand told reporters on the sidelines of the visit to the site.
The Naoriya Pakhanglakpa MLA said the Chief Minister would be requested to inaugurate the scheme which will supply safe drinking water to residents in the surrounding area of Langthabal.

He said this water supply scheme will be the biggest one in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa constituency.
Anand also informed that new water supply schemes are also taking up at Hiyangthang and Konjeng Leikai in the constituency.
Problem of shortage of water will be solved in the constituency after completion of the three schemes, he said.
The MLA later visited the patch of Langthabal Phuramakhong hillock where many people are resettling after being displaced by the Imphal Airport expansion programme.
Anand also inspected the Waishel Maril during the trip during which he discovered the side drains being constructed without maintaining quality at some section of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi.
He instructed the IFCD officials who were present at the side to take steps for reconstruction of the drain portion.
The side drains of Waishel Maril have been constructed under the sponsorship of NEC-Phase-II .
The MLA also inspected improvement works on all roads taken up under PMGSY in the constituency.
