Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) condemns vandalism at Ramji

Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB), Assam, Manipur and Nagaland has vehemently condemned the "uncivilized act" of destruction of the gate, the alleged desecration of "sacred deity (Bambu)", pelting stones on the houses and the harassment of minority people in Kinthanlong (Ramji) village, Imphal West District, Imphal on April 15 .
In a press release issued on Wednesday, ZB (AMN) General Secretary Gairiangmei Maringmei said the attack is a direct attack on the nation's secularism and it has hurt the sentiments of the minority religious group of Kinthanlong village, particularly the Zeliangrong.
ZB (AMN) informed that over 66 villages of Zeliangrong people are in different pockets of Imphal valley, Manipur and asserted that Zeliangrong people as law abiding citizen of the country did not resort to any retaliatory action against the miscreants till date.
Such unfortunate incident and actions carry out by the majority to the minority people must be condemned by all the right thinking people, said ZB (AMN).
The Baudi has demanded the arrest the "miscreants" and asked the authorities to award punishment to the culprits according to the law of land.
It has also sought adequate compensation for the damaged of property belonging to individuals and the village authority.
ZB (AMN) has urged the Government of Manipur to intervene and ease the prevailing tensions in the Kinthanlong (Ramji) village and bring peace and normalcy at the earliest "lest we will not be a mere spectator" .
