Thadou militant group set up

Imphal, November 11 2016:
With the primary objectives of safeguarding tribal autonomy and their historical liberty, a militant outfit christened Thadou People's Liberation Army (TPLA) has been established.
Speaking to media persons somewhere in Sadar Hills today, TPLA information secretary Th Jalaithang claimed that the armed outfit was formed in August 2015 though it was formally announced only today.
TPLA would not challenge the Constitution of India but would struggle for the rights and interests of Thadou people.
Already, 11 cadres of TPLA have been apprehended by security forces, Th Jalaithang said.
He said that TPLA would never go for political dialogue or Suspension of Operation pact with the Government until its primary objectives are achieved.
The outfit has 150 cadres and their leaders are Patrick Newton (president), Christopher (general secretary), Johney (home secretary), J Thadou (defence secretary and Patrick (finance secretary), Th Jalaithang added.
